Building Safe, Healthy and Livable Communities -- Smart Growth Conference

The New Partners for Smart Growth conference was held in Miami Beach, Florida on January 27 – 29. This was the 4th annual meeting, organized by the Local Government Commission and Penn State University and sponsored by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Smart Growth Network and the US Environmental Protection Agency. Over a thousand professionals from a variety of disciplines attended from throughout the US and Canada, with some in attendance from other nations as well. Jim Charlier presented a session on “The Transportation System.” The handout for that session and a condensed copy of the presentation are available.
