On October 17, 2014 leaders in the Roaring Fork and Colorado River Valleys (from Parachute, CO to Aspen, CO) on Colorado's Western Slope convened in Glenwood Springs to discuss rapidly evolving trends and shifts in travel demand and transportation needs in the area.

The event included an appearance by Don Hunt, Executive Director of the Colorado Department of Transportation and a presentation by Jim Charlier on the outcomes of the 2014 Regional Travel Patterns Study led by the Roaring Fork Transportation Authority (RFTA). The regional forum was organized by RFTA, Partners for Glenwood, and the Sonoran Institute. The Travel Patterns study was funded by RFTA, CDOT, Garfield County, Pitkin County, Eagle County, City of Aspen, Town of Snowmass Village, Town of Basalt, Town of Carbondale, and City of Glenwood Springs.
