Charlier Associates, Inc. (CAI) is a multimodal transportation planning firm, specializing in innovative approaches to improving community mobility. Our clients include state and regional agencies, towns, cities, counties, transit service providers and private sector developers interested in moving beyond traditional solutions and approaches. The firm was established in 1990 and has been based in Boulder since 1993.

Boulder is a national leader in progressive multimodal transportation planning, and often cited as one of the most pedestrian and bicycle-friendly cities in the country. Alternative modes of transportation are prioritized and celebrated in Boulder. The city boasts an extensive network of multi-use trails and on-street bicycle facilities, a four-block pedestrian mall at the heart of downtown, and a high-frequency community transit network.

Our office is located in The Steelyards, which is part of the proposed Boulder Transit Village
(shown in the image at right). The Boulder Transit Village is envisioned as a diverse, sustainable, pedestrian-oriented place, connecting to the future commuter rail and bus rapid transit lines.
